Educational institutions are increasingly interested in virtual reality, yet implementation decisions can be driven by novelty, vendor enthusiasm, or technology availability rather than instructional need or learner fit. Faculty and administrators need a practical way to determine when immersion adds meaningful educational value, and when a more accessible, familiar, or less resource-intensive modality may better serve learners.
This module replaces technology-first thinking with a structured instructional evaluation process grounded in immersive learning research. Educators move through five evidence-supported conditions for effective VR use — Situated Learning, Spatial Understanding, Safe Practice, Perspective Taking, and Embodied Learning — before reaching tools for readiness and implementation planning that support informed adoption decisions. The central question throughout is not "how do we implement VR?" but "should we?”

The experience translates immersive-learning research into a practical five-phase facilitation sequence, giving faculty concrete actions, timing, and instructional purpose.
